Ruh oh

I am in the process of actually looking at implementing Word Press. So far so good. If my site suddenly disappears, it's because I've nuked it be accident. Apologies.

As a taster of what has happened so far, I had to ask my domain provider how I set up a database. Turns out according to Mark the nice tech man, I have 26 of them. Whoda thought it?

And I had forgotten how to log into my control panel. Wooooo.

Sing all you want

Hm, I guess I've been too busy with other things to write. Planet Loud seem to have stepped up my involvement again, so I always seem to have a list of reviews I need to write, or gigs to sort out (I am interviewig a band called fun. on Saturday). Not that I complain! I merely observe.

Kick Out the Jams fest was interesting and fun. Rick, whom I was meant to go to the gig with decided to flake out on me a couple of hours prior, but as Gerald had put me on guestlist (with promise to write a review), and I would know people there, I made my way there regardless. The woman on the ticket desk said she recognised me (weirdly this was the second time that week a stranger had asked if they knew me at a gig - I guess my presence at concerts is starting to be felt?) but I had no idea who she was :).
Turned out, I knew a lot of people there. However, I knew them all vaguely (through G), whereas they've known each other for years. So although I wasn't on my own at all, it was a little awkward at times when the band had gone off to get ready and whatnot and I had to just stand and observe whilst everyone chatted away (I tried though!). I do appreciate being put out of my confort zone sometimes, it really helps me get over being a painfully shy person, but would have been nice to have just one person there to chat to properly though in the lulls. Everyone was lovely though - Russell's wife threw me into a group of people and introduced me to each one.

Starseed were fantastic! Theyre good guys, I hope they get bigger in time (they've got a video on Scuzz and have been played on stations like 6 Music and Xfm - they just need that little extra push).
After having an Atticus wrist band thrown at my feet post gig by the compere, I wandered to the loo, and back out to find most people had scarpered! Luckily Kat and Andy were still about, and so we waited for the band to finish getting their stuff together. We're pushed into the 2nd room by the bouncers, and I end up with Dale's girlfriend(wife?) dancing like a spaz to punk covers of pop songs until G and other band peeps appear, eventually leaving at 2-3am.

Saturday was rather tiring, seeing as I had to be up for work for 8. In the evening I celebrated Alan and Becca's birthdays in Strada in Richmond. I thought the service was terrible (I was left waiting by the door when I had asked if the Masters party were there - it was only when I rang someone I went storming through the restaurant and no one battered an eyelid). The food was okaay at best, but at least the evening was fun with everyone.

Sound Awake

I saw Karnivool at the Garage on Monday night. It was G who had introduced me to this band - he had been raving about them in the pub one night, and the next time I saw him he handed me a copy of their recent album. Turns out he was right, they were bloody good. So, when I saw tickets for their tour on sale it seemed logical to go see them.
So I spent the evening with 3/5s of Starseed (including Gerald), and a few others. All very good fun, the band were brilliant (the support band, the Sound of Attack or something along those lines was not so great).
We ended up in the Garage bar after the gig, some of us literally just missing last orders and so sharing a couple of pints. The lead singer of Karnivool comes wandering through the bar - everyone has a bit of a chat with him, and we end up having a photo taken with him. Woop.

Badminton on Tuesday seemed more fun than usual, no idea why.

Yesterday I had a night in, and raided on WoW. My raidgroup is up to the Lich King (current final boss in the game) and I was taken along to heal. Immense fun, it's a tough fight. He'll be dead soon.

Going to the Kick Out The Jams Festival tomorrow night (Starseed headlining) and Saturday shall be spent at work then onto Becca and Alan's Birthday thing.

You never talktalktalktalktalk about it

I am going to make a conscience effort to write here more often. I miss doing so. Not just what I've been up to, but general musings, like I used to. Hopefully not in such a spazzy teenage way. Twitter has somewhat taken the need to post small insignificant things, and thus has reduced the want to write more. It's a shame.

Also, this weekend I shall be migrating my blog over from Blogger, to Wordpress fingers crossed. Blogger have decided to shut their FTP servers as of the beginning of May, and for my own domain-hosting ass, this is bad.

Stay tuned folks.

Cry

GrrrrrrRRRRrrrr Trio have confirmed a May UK tour, as well as appearing at the (what looks to have an amazing line up) Slam Dunk festival. They are in the vicinity that I would like to see them play at EXACTLY the same time that I am in Rome for my cousin's wedding. BOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO. At least I see them accoustically at New Slang.

Maybe I'll see them somewhere else in the country before I go to Italy...
